Attorney Madeline Gauthier

Madeline Gauthier is a graduate of Gonzaga University Law School (J.D.) and the University of Florida's Graduate Tax Program (LL.M.). She is formerly an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Washington. Her private practice opened in Bellevue, WA in 1992, where she focuses on estate planning, probate, guardianships, probate litigation, and TEDRA and the tax complications of those areas.

Over the years, Madeline has assisted clients with settling hundreds of estates. As reflected in her book, When Someone Dies: Stories of handling probate in Washington, and excerpted on her blog, Ms. Gauthier has helped personal representatives manage all types of estates, ranging from the simplest to the most complex.

Madeline's Memberships include the East King County Estate Planning Council (formerly a board member), the East King County Bar Association (previously a board member), the King County Bar Association, and the East King County Bar Probate, and Estate Section (currently chair).

In addition to her professional memberships, Ms. Gauthier has won a number of awards, including: an AmJur award for outstanding scholarship in the area of the theory of taxation and Rotarian of the Month for outstanding service to her Rotary club. Additionally, Ms. Gauthier currently holds a 10.0 rating on AVVO and she has positive reviews from many clients.
